PRIVACY POLICY

We take your privacy seriously and are committed to providing a safe online experience.  We believe in being transparent about our practices, which is why we have provided this Privacy Policy to explain how we collect, use and disclose your information.

This Privacy Policy applies to all Platform users or other individual’s personal data which is in our possession or under our control (collectively, “you, “your” or “yours”).

Subject to applicable laws, you agree that by accessing Teleskop platform, which includes our Teleskop landing page, mobile app, and website (collectively the “Platform”), you shall be deemed to have accepted to be legally bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy without limitation or qualification and all personal information / data relating to you collected by Teleskop Technologies Pte. Ltd. (“Teleskop”, “we”, “our” or “us”) from the Platform from time to time may be used and disclosed for such purposes and to such persons as set out in this Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Platform. Any continued access or use of the Platform (whether this time or in future) will imply that you have accepted the terms of this Privacy Policy.

 

1. Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personal Data

1.1 Personal data is data that can be used to identify a natural person. We may collect the following personal data from you for your core business purposes, including but not limited to:

(a) Your Profile / Account Information. We may collect your name, email address and phone number on registration;

(b) Voluntarily Provided Information. We collect information which you voluntarily provide to us, such as information that you choose to upload or enter for the purposes of utilizing our services on the Platform, or when you contact us or provide feedback to us. Such information that you voluntarily provide to us may include highly sensitive information. Any information that you provide to us will be at your own risk. You may choose not to provide certain information, but choosing to do so may prevent you from being able to take advantage of some of our Platform’s features;

(c) Usage and Log Information. We collect diagnostic, cookie information and performance information when you use the Platform;

(d) Platform Support and Feedback. We collect copies of your messages and how to contact you to provide Platform support when you contact us with queries or provide feedback to us on your use of the Platform;

(e) Transactional Information. If you pay us, we may receive information and confirmations, such as payment receipts, including from the Platform or other third parties processing your payment;

(f) Information Other Parties Provide About You. We may receive information that other people provide to us, which may include information about you;

(g) Third-Party Providers. We may work with third-party providers to help us operate, provide, improve, understand, customise, support and market the Platform. These providers may provide us with information about you in certain circumstances; and 

(h) Third-Party Services. We may allow you to use the Platform in connection with third-party services. Please note that when you use third-party services, their own terms and privacy policies will govern your use of those services. 

 

1.2 We may collect, use, disclose, retain, process or transfer your personal data for the following purposes, including but not limited to:

(a) to create and maintain your account with us and facilitate your access and/or use of the Platform;

(b) to retrieve a user’s information to be uploaded into the user’s account on the Platform;

(c) to provide and improve our services and operations of the Platform, including informing you of any changes or updates on our Platform;

(d) for verification and authentication purposes; 

(e) for accounting and billing purposes;

(f) for targeted online marketing;

(g) for data aggregation and statistical analytics (i.e monitoring usage and activity trends) and to perform market, demographic or trend analysis/survey for research and marketing purposes;

(h) for disaster recovery and back-up;

(i) for internal administrative and management purposes; 

(j) to contact you regarding any feedback, queries or requests;

(k) to address or investigate any complains, claims or disputes;

(l) to handle any issues which have come to our attention;

(m) to monitor, detect, investage and prevent fraud, illegal acticity or abuse of the Platform;

(n) where required by any act, statute, law, or regulation, or by the order of a government authority or a court or tribunal of competent jurisdiction;

(o) any purposes exempted under the applicable laws;

(p) such other purposes consented by you for which your personal information is collected; or

(q) any other purpose reasonably related to the aforesaid.

1.3 We may transfer, store, process and/or deal with your personal data outside of Singapore to meet the Purposes for which you have submitted the information. In doing so, we will comply with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”) and other applicable data privacy protection and privacy laws and regulations.

 

1.4 We may combine information about you that we have with information we obtain from business partners or other companies, and may secure information about you from our joint marketing partners or from unrelated third parties. We may also use mailing lists from third parties.

 

1.5 We can also share your personal data as part of a sale, merger or change in control, or in preparation for any of these events. Any other entity which acquires or merge us will have the right to continue to use your data, but only in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy unless you agree otherwise.

 

2. Cookies

 

2.1 We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience, personalise content, and analyse traffic on the Platform. Cookies are small data files sent to your browser to store and track information regarding you when you enter our Platform. While the cookies can tell us when you enter our Platform and which pages you visit, they cannot read data off your hard disk. We may use cookies for the following purposes, among others:-

(a) To deliver and maintain online services, including providing basic website functionality, page navigation, facilitating transactions and payments, user authentication, fraud prevention, and maintaining and securing our Platform.

(b) To track information such as frequency of website or app visit, duration of visit and web or app pages visited. This is to allow us to understand our Platform traffic better, customise your surfing experience and pave way for future improvement of our Platform.

 

2.2 Further, some cookies and other tracking and storage technologies that we use are from our authorised third-party service providers (“Third-Party Cookies”) to provide us with web analytics and intelligence about our Platform and/or to assist us with certain features on the Platform. These third-party service providers use programming code to collect information about your interactions and information on our Platform. The use of Third-Party Cookies is subject to the privacy policies of these third-party service providers. We have no access or control over such Third-Party Cookies. 2.3 You may choose to disable the cookies by changing the settings in your web browser or on your device. However, rejecting or deleting certain cookies may prevent you from taking full advantage of the features of the Platform.

 

3. Payment Providers

 

We use various third-party payment service providers to process your payments to us. These third-party payment service providers have their own privacy policies in respect to the information that they collect from you for your purchase-related transactions. We recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these third-party payment service providers.

 

4. Disclosure of Personal Data

 

4.1 We may disclose your personal data to our staff, partners, third party service providers (such as lawyers or auditors), agents, contractors, subcontractors and affiliates in Singapore or elsewhere, for the Purposes, to maintain and facilitate the functionalities and features of the Platform, or to protect the security or integrity of this Platform and our databases. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to ensure that such partners do not use your personal data for a purpose other than the purposes for which the personal data were originally given. You agree and acknowledge that the respective privacy policies of our partners, third party service providers, agents, contractors, subcontractors and affiliates may apply in respect of your personal data collected by them.

 

4.2 We will also use our reasonable endeavours to ensure that your personal data disclosed to any of the above parties is kept confidential and secure. Nevertheless, we do not warrant or take responsibility of any misuse undertaken by such parties which are beyond our control.

4.3 Subject to the applicable laws, we may access, preserve, and share any or all of your personal data and information or documents uploaded by you to the Platform if we have a good-faith belief that disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to, or if we are required or permitted to:

a) respond to any applicable law, regulations, legal process, or government requests, which may include lawful access by foreign courts, law enforcement or other government authorities in the jurisdictions in which we or our service providers operate; 

b) enforce our General Terms and Conditions and any other applicable terms and policies, including for investigations of potential violations; 

c) detect, investigate, prevent, or otherwise address fraud and other illegal activity or security and technical issues; or 

d) protect the rights, property and safety of our users, Teleskop, or others, including to prevent death or imminent bodily harm.

 

 

5. Aggregated Data

 

5.1 Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, we may generate aggregated and statistical data derived from your use of the Platform and/or from your information, including, without limitation, aggregated or anonymized data, the number of records, the number and types of transactions, configurations, and reports processed (“Aggregated Data”). By using the Platform and storing data on the Platform, you agree that we may have access to your data for the purpose of generating Aggregated Data. Such Aggregated Data shall not include any personally identifiable information.

You acknowledge and agree that we own:-

(a) the Aggregated Data; and

(b) the processed data that results from any data analysis and processing by us or our affiliates (“Processed Data”).

Nothing herein shall be construed as prohibiting us from utilizing or disclosing the Aggregated Data and/or Processed Data for purposes of operating our business, provided that our use of Aggregated Data and/or Processed Data will not reveal the identity, whether directly or indirectly, of any individual. In no event shall the Aggregated Data and/or Processed Data include any personally identifiable information. 

5.2 You further acknowledge and agree that, as part of our services, we may from time to time provide on the Platform product or service advertisements from us or our affiliates or partners based on the Aggregated Data and/or Processed Data collected or processed by us.

 

6. Retention of Data

 

6.1 We retain your personal data as long as we are providing services to you and/or for such period of time that you have an account with us for the Purposes or otherwise as permitted under the PDPA. We may also retain personal data after we cease providing services directly or indirectly to you, even if you close your account with us, for the Purposes or otherwise as permitted under the PDPA or to the extent necessary to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, and for the purpose of fraud monitoring, detection and prevention. 

 

6.2 We may retain your personal data to comply with our tax, accounting, and financial reporting obligations, where we are required to retain the data by our contractual commitments to our financial partners, and where data retention is mandated by the payment methods that we support. Where we retain data, we do so in accordance with any limitation periods and records retention obligations that are imposed by applicable law.

 

6.3 You acknowledge that, for your privacy, security and other operational reasons, your data in the original form received by us may be deleted without being backed-up by us after such data has been processed for the Purposes.

 

6.4 Notwithstanding the foregoing, we reserve the right to destroy or delete any of your personal data from our system at our sole discretion without further reference to you.

 

7. Accuracy of Your Personal Data

 

By providing us with your personal data (or that of a family member or other persons), you agree and acknowledge that Teleskop shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused through the provision of erroneous, inexact or incomplete information, and that any loss or damage caused by the aforesaid will be your exclusive and absolute responsibility. 

 

8. Confidentiality

 

Save where expressly provided herein, we will not reveal to any person, firm or company any which may come to our knowledge hereunder and shall keep with complete secrecy the personal information provided by you and shall not use or attempt to use any such personal information in any manner without your permission.  These restrictions shall cease to apply to information or knowledge which may come into the public domain other than as a result of any act or breach of this Privacy Policy by us.

 

9. Security of Your Personal Information

 

9.1 To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the correct use of personal information, we have put in place physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the confidentiality and integrity of the personal information we collect. We use technology designed to transfer information securely from the Platform to our web servers. This should mean that all of your personal information is encrypted to avoid the decoding of that information by anyone. These aforementioned safeguards are designed to protect against, but are not a guarantee against, the loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction of personal information. Where appropriate, we use available technology to protect the security of transactions and communications made through the Platform. However, as no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you transmit such information at your own risk. We do not accept liability for the security, authenticity, integrity or confidentiality of any transaction and other communications made through the Platform.

 

9.2 Internet communications may be susceptible to interference or interception by third parties. Despite our best efforts, we make no warranties that the Platform is free of viruses or other unauthorised software. 

 

9.3 You should take appropriate steps to keep your information, software and equipment secure. This includes clearing your Internet browser cookies and cache before and after using any services on the Platform.

 

10. Third Party Providers / Websites

 

10.1 The Platform may contain hyperlinks to and from other websites, web pages and/or apps which are not produced or maintained by us. We make no representation and are not responsible for the content of those sites and shall not be liable for any damages or loss arising from access to those sites. Any content, services, representations made on such sites are solely the responsibility of the operator of those sites and we assume no responsibility for any content, the operation or the services provided thereon. Use of the hyper-links and access to such linked websites, web pages and/or apps are entirely at your own risk.

 

10.2 All hyper-links to other websites, web pages and/or apps are provided as a convenience to you as a user of the Platform. In no circumstance shall Teleskop be considered to be associated or affiliated in whatever manner with any trade or service marks, logos, insignia or other devices used or appearing on the sites to which the Platform is linked.

 

10.3 These websites may have different privacy practices from the ones described here. Since this Privacy Policy applies solely to this Platform, please read the privacy statements of the other websites you visit.

 

11. Accessing, Changing or Deleting Your Information

 

11.1 Upon request, we will:-

(a) provide you with access to your personal data or other appropriate information on your personal data in accordance with the requirements of the PDPA; and/or

(b) correct an error or omission in your personal data that is in our possession or control in accordance with the requirements of the PDPA.

All requests must be made to us here. We may charge for a request for access in accordance with the requirements of the PDPA. Please note that any requests to update your personal information may take up to 14 days. To protect your privacy and security, we may ask you to verify your identity and/or provide other details to help us respond to your request before granting access or making corrections.

 

11.2 If you wish to revoke your consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data, or if you have any comments, concerns or questions about this Privacy Policy, our policies and practices, please contact us here. We will respond to you within fourteen (14) working days.

 

12. Amendments to Our Privacy Policy

 

The terms of this Privacy Policy may be changed from time to time. All changes will be posted on this page, and your access or use of the Platform after such changes have been posted will constitute your agreement to the modified Privacy Policy and all of the changes. You should therefore read this page carefully each time you visit the Platform.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
